WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lock Haven University tennis team opened a busy stretch of competition this afternoon (Thursday, Oct. 7) at nearby Lycoming College. The Bald Eagles came away with their first dual win, 5-4, since the return of the program in 2019.

Leading the way today for LHU was its No. 1 Maddy Reeves (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) and No. 2 Mia Shuler (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) who both secured wins in their individual matches and then teamed for a win at No. 1 doubles.

Reeves and Shuler dominated, 6-3, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively in singles play. In doubles play, they combined for an 8-3 win.

Olivia Sharp (York, Pa./York County School of Technology) delivered the win in the decisive match for the Bald Eagles at No. 6 singles after pushing the match to a third set. Her 5-7, 6-0, 10-8 win finalized the win for LHU.

Delani Wolever (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) and Christy McLean (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) came through with a critical victory at No. 2 doubles which paved the way for future LHU success.
