SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (3-18, 1-10 PSAC) dropped a road match with Shepherd University (20-3, 9-2 PSAC), 3-0, (25-15, 27-25 & 25-21) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action on Friday night.

Shepherd started strong in the opening set and took a 25-15 victory behind a .375 hitting percentage. The Bald Eagles responded well in the second set battling out a hard-fought thriller, but Shepherd eventually scraped out a win by a 27-25 score. The Rams built off the momentum-changing second set victory and finished the match in the third set, 25-21.

Defensively,
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) and
Regan Happ (Lighthouse Point, Fla./Westminster Academy) were impressive as both led all players in digs with 14 and 12, respectively.

Gaston also paced The Haven offense and handed out 23 assists, two service aces and three kills.
Alyssa Daley (Everett, Pa./Everett) led all Bald Eagle hitters with eight kills.
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/ (Indian River)) tallied six kills of her own, two service aces and chipped in seven digs.

The Bald Eagles wrap up their four-game road trip tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Shippensburg. That match is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
