Men’s Basketball falls to Pitt-Johnstown

The LHU men’s basketball team dropped a road matchup with the Mountain Cats on Sunday.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (4-5, 1-4 PSAC) dropped a road contest with Pitt-Johnstown (7-3, 3-1 PSAC), 95-68, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Mountain Cats offense got rolling in the first half and shot a strong 50 percent from the field along with 55 percent from beyond the arc. The offensive outburst saw UPJ take a 41-28 lead into the halftime break.
 
The hot shooting continued in the second half as UPJ was able to build on their advantage. At the final whistle, the Mountains Cats came away shooting 58 percent from the field and a tremendous 68 percent from three-point range to pull away for the 95-68 victory.
 
MarkAnthony Fidelis (Largo, Md./DeMatha) led a trio of Bald Eagles in double figures with 14 points.
 
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) chipped in 12 and Eli Washington (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) notched 10 of his own. Washington also led LHU with five assists.
 
Braden Kitt (Roaring Spring, Pa./Central) led the Bald Eagles with seven rebounds and he also scored seven points
 
Up Next:
The Bald Eagles break until the New Year when they return home to Thomas Fieldhouse to host Bloomsburg on January 5. That game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
