LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (6-18, 6-18 PSAC East) split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader today at home with Bloomsburg University (16-12, 16-12 PSAC East).
Lock Haven won a slugfest in game one 14-10, before the Huskies won game two, 5-4.
Game 1 Recap: Final, Lock Haven 14 - Bloomsburg 10
Lock Haven plated 14 runs on 16 hits in the high-scoring - 14-10 - game-one win. The two teams combined for 24 runs on 28 hits. For LHU, the win snapped a four-game losing streak.
Despite the heavy offensive outburst at the plate, a key in the victory was the three-inning save effort of
Brandon Lingenfelter (State College, Pa./State College). He struck out five over three innings of relief.
Isaac Porter (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) led Lock Haven at the plate in game one. He was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Porter hit a three-run home run in the third inning.
Reagan Lawlor (McMurry, Pa./Peters Township) was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs.
Jake Mastillo (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) had a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Blaise Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) capped the strong offensive surge in game one by going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Game 2 Recap: Final, Bloomsburg 5 – Lock Haven 4
Visiting Bloomsburg avoided the sweep with a 5-4 game-two victory today.
Leading the way for LHU in game two was
Justin Lichtenwalner (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield), who was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple.
Joe Shannon (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent (Mercer C.C.) drove in a run for Lock Haven.
