BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (1-18, 1-7 PSAC East) visited Bloomsburg (5-16, 3-5 PSAC East) for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division battle on Friday night, which saw the Huskies take the win, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-15). 

Set one saw the Bald Eagles hold the early lead, including four kills by Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/ (Indian River)), but Bloomsburg claimed 12 of the last 15 points to steal the first set, 25-23. 

The Huskies grabbed the second set after finding some important late kills to hold the momentum and won, 25-20. Bloomsburg posted another conference victory as the home team closed the door, winning the last set, 25-15. 

Five Lock Haven players helped defend the net and pick up blocks, including Samantha Swenby (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) and Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) stopping two. Gaston also handed out 16 assists for the Bald Eagles. 

Shayna Warfel and Sydney Buell paced the attack for the Huskies' offense as they each knocked down 11 kills each on the night.

The team returns to The Haven to face West Chester on Friday, October 21. The 7 p.m. start will also serve as Faculty Appreciation Night.
