LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's indoor track and field team opened the 2022-23 season today (Saturday, Dec. 3) at the annual Bucknell Bison Opener and several Bald Eagles stood out individually.
Returning standout sprinter and mid-distance star
Ryan Miller (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) was the athlete to see on Saturday, and led the way for Lock Haven. Miller opened his season with a victory in the 300-meter dash as he bested the field in 35.63. It's the third-fastest mark in school history for the event.
Michael Lawrence (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) made his collegiate debut and jumped to a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship qualifying mark in the long jump with a mark of 22-01.5. He was fourth overall in the event.
Lock Haven placed third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:30.4.
Other notable individual performances came in a number of events.
Chase Young (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) just missed a PSAC mark in the triple jump and
Ijae Karlinsey (Alverda, Pa./Penns Manor) represented the throwers today.
