GLENVILLE, W. Va. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (6-7) faced off against Glenville State (12-2) in a single nine-inning game on Sunday afternoon after a lengthy rain delay caused the double header to be changed to a single contest. The Pioneers took the non-conference matchup 13-6.

The Pioneers started off the first inning hot and knocked in four runs, including a three-run home run to take a 4-0 lead. Glenville State drove in another run in the second inning to push ahead 5-0.

In the top of the fifth,
Gabe Stirr (Canadensis, Pa./Pocono Mtn. East) put the Bald Eagles on the scoreboard with an RBI single which drove in
Zach Kaatz (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) and cut the Pioneer lead to 5-1.

The Pioneers responded with a barrage of runs. To end the sixth inning, they scored eight runs off six hits, including another three-run home run to increase their lead to 13-1.

LHU scored five more runs over the next two innings.
Gavin Troutman (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) laced a two-RBI single.
Jake Mastillo (Roaring Brook Twp, Pa./North Pocono) also notched an RBI, and the Bald Eagles got two more runs off a Glenville State error to bring the deficit to 13-6. The Bald Eagles got no closer however, and the Pioneers notched the win on a rainy afternoon.

Playing on their home field for the first time this season, the Bald Eagles start Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action when West Chester come to town on Friday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. for a single nine-inning game.
