LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (9-27, 2-17 PSAC East) dropped a home matchup with East Stroudsburg University (30-13, 11-8 PSAC East), 17-5, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern division matchup.
 
The Warriors started quickly and tallied three runs in the first inning and four in the second to jump ahead 7-0.
 
LHU struck back in the bottom half of the third inning when 
Jake Mastillo (Roaring Brook Twp, Pa./North Pocono) lined a two-RBI single to left center to cut the ESU lead to 7-2.
 
ESU added another run in the fifth inning and three in the sixth to push out an 11-2 advantage.
 
The Bald Eagles responded in the sixth with three runs of their own as 
Cameron Kutchey (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg notched an RBI-triple and 
Justin Lichtenwalner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) drove in two more with a single to center field.
 
The Warriors added one run in the eighth and five in the ninth to bring home the 17-5 win in the series opener.
 
Offensively, Lichtenwalner and 
Blaise Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) each recorded two of the Bald Eagles nine total hits. Lichtenwalner and Mastillo also notched two-RBIs to pace the offense.
 
Next Up:
The Bald Eagles wrap up their weekend series tomorrow on the road with a doubleheader against East Stroudsburg. First pitch of game one is set for 12 p.m.
