LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (8-20) fell in game one 13-1, but rebounded for a resounding 12-1 win in game two to split a doubleheader with Indiana (Pa.) University (13-12) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover play.
Game 1: L, 13-1
In game one, the Crimson Hawks took control and grabbed an early 4-0 lead after the first two innings. The Bald Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when
Garrett Nepert (Preston, Md./Colonel Richardson (Chesapeake County CC)) collected LHU's lone RBI with a double to cut the IUP lead to 4-1.
IUP went on to open the game up with a seven-run fifth inning. Harrison Pontoli capped the scoring with a grand slam to put IUP ahead 11-1.
Gavin Troutman (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley),
Joe Shannon (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent (Mercer CC)) and
Blaise Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) all collected hits. Garret Nepert went 2-2 including his fifth inning RBI.
Game 2: W, 12-1
IUP started the second game in similar fashion, taking a 1-0 lead in the first, but
Cameron Kutchey (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg got the Lock Haven offense rolling in the second as he recorded an RBI to score
Jake Mastillo (Roaring Brook, Twp., Pa./North Pocono).
Nick White (Halethorpe, Md./Lansdowne (CCBC Dundalk)) recorded the second RBI of the inning for Lock Haven to score
Zach Kaatz (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) from third. Troutman laced a double and collected the third RBI of the inning to Lock Haven a 3-1 lead.
The bats came alive again in the bottom of the 5
th as Nepert got his third RBI of the day.
Nick White (Halethorpe, Md./Lansdowne) followed with a single, notching his first RBI of the day to put the Bald Eagles up 6-1. Troutman drove in Nepert and opened the lead to 7-1.
Lock Haven would move the score to 12-1 by the bottom of the sixth with a four run sixth inning to seal the win.
The trio of White, Nepert and Troutman each notched three hits apiece as LHU racked up 16 hits and 12 runs. Troutman and White also added three RBIs in game two.

th against Penn State Dubois. Sunday's single nine-inning game is set to start at 2:00 p.m.
