ELKINS, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (0-4) closed out their weekend at the Top Hat Classic, hosted by Davis & Elkins, and came up short against Glenville State and Virginia State on the final day of the tournament.

Match 1 vs. Glenville State: L, 3-1 (25-21, 25-12, 20-25 & 25-20)

The first set of the day saw the Bald Eagles drop a close opening set, 25-21. Glenville State used the momentum and won the second set, 25-12. LHU bounced back with a strong third set, winning 25-20 and smacking four aces during that set, but the Pioneers claimed the match in the fourth set with a 25-20 win.
Senior
Riley Runk (York, Pa./Dover) contributed on both sides of the court, leading the team with 13 digs, while also picking up three aces.
Sophomore setter
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) paced the attack and picked up 28 assists and posting two blocks.

Match 1 vs. Virginia State: L, 3-1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18)
The Bald Eagles started their second game of the day on the winning side as the Bald Eagles took six of the last eight points to win the set, 25-19. The Trojans rebounded and mounted a comeback to take three straight matches to bring home the victory.

Senior outside-hitter
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/ (Indian River)) led the Bald Eagles with 12 kills and chipped in 14 digs on the defensive side.

Gaston delivered another solid performance and notched 29 assists for the Haven.
