LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (1-14, 1-3 PSAC East) returned home to face Kutztown (8-7, 1-3 PSAC East) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division play, and the Golden Bears took the contest, 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-17).
Set one saw the Bald Eagles and the Golden Bears in a fierce battle with early lead changes until the visitors ignited seven consecutive points to help secure the first set, winning 25-19.
As the teams switched sides, the script remained the same with another close start, but Kutztown created an eight-point swing to win the set 25-13 and capture the 2-0 lead.
The Golden Bears finished off the match, taking the final set 25-17 to complete the sweep on the night.
Adrianna Derstine led the way for Kutztown, planting 12 kills and Lexi Morrow grabbed 22 assists to push their attack on the road.
LHU had three players with multiple blocks as Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain), Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview), and Alyssa Daley (Everett, Pa./Everett) helped to defend the net.
Gaston added 15 assists on the offensive end for LHU.
