KENT, Ohio – The Lock Haven field hockey team (4-9) scored a late goal but fell to Kent State University (5-9), 3-1, in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 15).
Alyssa Endrick (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored her third goal of the season off an assist from
Anna May Barbusca (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) in the 49
th minute, but it wasn't enough to recover from a three-goal deficit.
Kent State scored just 45 seconds into the contest before building a 2-0 lead in the 11
th minute. Kent State added an insurance goal seven minutes into the second half to ultimately put the game out of reach.
The Haven offense improved drastically in the second half, where they tripled their shots and created two additional penalty corner opportunities.
Barbusca led the offensive attack with a team-high four shots on goal to go with the assist.
Kelsey Felix (Hallam, Pa./Eastern York) made six saves in cage for The Haven.
