SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team (4-8-1, 3-7-1 PSAC East) went on the road to down Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division foe Shippensburg University, 2-1, on Wednesday night (Oct. 21).
The victory is the third in a row for the Bald Eagles and the second straight in the PSAC East.
The Bald Eagles struck first, scoring just 1:22 into the contest when
Eva Stoessel (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) found the back of the net for the first time this season off an assist from
Trinity Seaman (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona).
Both defenses settled in from there until
Julia Haines (Arendtsville, Pa./Biglerville) extended the Bald Eagles lead to 2-0 with her first goal of the season in the 78
th minute.
The Raiders cut their deficit in half with a goal in the 79
th minute, but the Bald Eagles did not allow a score from there to clinch the PSAC East victory.
In net, Lock Haven goalkeeper
Megan Miller (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) earned her fourth victory of the season and finished with four saves.
