LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Avery Landrum (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) scored in the first half to give the Lock Haven women's soccer team an early lead, but West Chester University rallied for a pair of goals in the second half to steal a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division victory, 2-1, at Hubert Jack Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 21).
Trinity Seaman (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) sent a beautiful lead pass into the box to a streaking Landrum, who settled and sent a header over the leaping Golden Rams' keeper for the goal.
The goal is the second of the year for Landrum.
Lock Haven (4-9-1, 3-8-1 PSAC East) held the advantage for the next 32 minutes, but West Chester (9-3-2, 9-1-1 PSAC East) scored two unanswered goals in the 53
rd and 55
th minute to take a 2-1 lead.
Despite the two goals, Lock Haven goalkeeper
Megan Miller (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) was excellent in net all night, keeping the Bald Eagles in striking distance with seven electrifying saves.
The Lock Haven defense was resilient even under constant pressure as the Golden Rams fired off a game-high 21 shots.
Landrum led the offense with three shots and the goal.
