LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Tom Pombor (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) scored in the first half to give the Lock Haven men's soccer team (6-7-2, 3-5-2 PSAC East) an early lead at home, but Bloomsburg (9-2-5, 7-1-3 PSAC East) scored twice in the second half to steal a 2-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division victory at Hubert Jack Stadium.
The reigning PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week, Pombor, scored his sixth goal in six games off a penalty kick to give the Bald Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 22
nd minute.
The Bald Eagles aggressive defense led to scoring opportunities on offense, especially in the first half, when they led in corners and shots.
However, the second seed in the PSAC East Bloomsburg broke through with the equalizer eight minutes into the second half to knot the score (1-1).
The Huskies drew a penalty in the box at the 68-minute mark and connected on the PK to take a 2-1 lead, which proved to be the difference.
Lock Haven goalkeeper
Brady Freiwald (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) finished with four saves in the 90 minutes.
Connor Swope (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) finished with four shots, all coming on goal for The Haven.
