LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (10-7) dominated from start to finish on its way to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-20) sweep over Salem University (3-18) in non-conference action on Thursday (Oct. 26) inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
Under first-year head coach Michael Kraft, Lock Haven reaches double digits in wins for the first time in five years, where they finished the season with 10 wins (2018).
The Bald Eagles never trailed on the night, ending their 2023 non-conference schedule with a bang at home.
In the third set, Lock Haven finished with a .400 attacking percentage, their highest of the match.
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) had another impressive day with 29 assists, 12 digs, and seven kills with a .700 attacking percentage.
The trio of
Reagan Irons (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone),
Emma Kelly (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Ranch) and
Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa. Central Mountain) finished with 11, eight, and seven kills, respectively. Irons had an attacking percentage of .444, while Rembold finished at .500.
Natalie Acevedo (Camuy, Puerto Rico/Paula Freire Social Justice Charter School) led the defense with a team-high 18 digs.
Sabrina Valentin (Ovideo, Fla./Paul J. Hagerty) also led the charge with her serve, finishing with four of the team's nine total aces.
