LOCK HAVEN, PA. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (10-9, 4-6 PSAC East) fell to visiting Kutztown University (9-14, 2-8 PSAC East), 3-0, (21-25, 22-25, 22-25) on Saturday night (Oct. 28) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
Despite the loss, the Bald Eagles remain in fourth place in the PSAC East, one game ahead of Bloomsburg for the fourth and final postseason spot.
Kutztown fought off The Haven comeback bids in each set, but none more exciting than the third and final set when the Bald Eagles clawed their way out of a 23-16 hole to make it 23-22. However, as they were able to all night, the Golden Bears held on to seal the victory and the 3-0 sweep.
For the Bald Eagles, freshman outside hitter
Reagan Irons (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) led the Bald Eagles in kills with nine, while adding four digs.
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) finished with a team-high 19 assists and 13 digs.
Both
Alyssa Daley (Everett, Pa./Everett) and
Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) added seven kills each.
Daley, Rembold and
Madison Eckley (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle) finished with two aces each.
