LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (10-11, 4-8 PSAC East) hosted Shepherd University (13-13, 8-4 PSAC East) for their final home game in Thomas Fieldhouse in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest, which the Rams won 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-23).
The Bald Eagles would like to thank senior volunteer asssitant Joel Robinson and graduate assistant Jackie Fetsko for their contributions and dedication to Lock Haven and the women's volleyball program.
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) led the way for Lock Haven, sending 23 assists on the afternoon. Reagan Irons (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) and Sabrina Valentin (Ovideo, Fla./Paul J. Hagerty) pushed out the kills for the Bald Eagles, earning 9 and 8 kills respectively.
Joi Fairweather dominated the net for Shepherd, earning 13 kills on the day. Victoria Nicholes picked up 25 assists in the contest.
Set one paced back and forth, but after four unanswered points by the Rams, Shepherd crawled out the 25-21 set.
The opponent continued off their momentum to cruise to a 25-13 second set. In the third set, Lock Haven inched back into the lead after five unanswered rallies, including two blocks by Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain), but the Rams pushed out four straight after the Bald Eagles eruption and complete the sweep in a close 25-23 set.
Saturday's afternoon contest concluded the Bald Eagles' 2023 home schedule.
