LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's indoor track and field team opened the 2022-23 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Championships today (Saturday, Feb. 25) with a strong effort, and leading the way was
Ryan Miller (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) and
Austin Kravetz (Altoona, Pa./Altoona).
Miller, the top-seed and defending champion in the 400-meter dash, positioned himself well for a title defense tomorrow. Miller ran an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 48.89, which was the fastest time in today's prelims. The 400-meter finals are set for tomorrow (Sunday).
Miller also ran 22.51 in the 200-meter dash and qualified eighth for tomorrow's finals at 200 meters.
Kravetz ran a remarkable race in the 60-meter hurdle prelims. Seeded fourth overall coming in, he ran 8.33 and qualified second for tomorrow's finals. The time of 8.33 marked a collegiate best and the third fastest time in school history.
The Haven men placed fourth (5 pts.) overall in an exciting distance medley relay event with a time of 10:17.24.
The PSAC championship meet will continue tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 26), and Day-2 action begins at 11:30 a.m. at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.
