SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Lock Haven women's basketball team (11-16, 9-13 PSAC) closed the regular-season on Saturday afternoon, dropping a road contest against Shippensburg University (23-5, 18-4 PSAC), 67-46, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
Despite the result, the Bald Eagles were already locked into the six seed in the conference postseason, and will wait on results from around the PSAC for their first-round opponent on Monday.
The Bald Eagles started in a hurry, and led Shippensburg 12-6 in the opening minutes. The Raiders quickly tied things up at 12-12, but a late three-pointer from
Olivia Smith (Alexandria, Pa./Juniata Valley (Frostburg State)) handed Lock Haven a 23-17 lead after the opening period.
Shippensburg chipped away at the Bald Eagles' lead and were able to grab a slight 33-32 lead going into halftime. The Raiders continued to build in the third quarter and took a 50-40 lead into the final 10 minutes.
In the final quarter, Shippensburg pulled away and grabbed the victory in the regular-season finale, 67-46.
Brooke Lawyer (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) carried the scoring effort for Lock Haven with 13 points.
Jenadia Jordan (Lititz, Pa./Linden Hall) and
Jackie Fetsko (Marion Center, Pa./Marion Center) each chipped in nine points and both grabbed seven rebounds.
On the glass,
Alana Robinson (Rockaway, N.J./Pope John Paul II) hauled in eight boards, but Shippensburg held a slight 44-43 advantage in rebounding.

The Haven now sets their sights on the PSAC postseason. On Monday (Feb. 27) the Bald Eagles travel to for a first-round battle.
