KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (11-11, 1-5 PSAC East) dropped both games of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader today at Kutztown University (11-11, 5-1 PSAC East). Host Kutztown won 4-3 in game one in what proved to be a 10-inning marathon, and Kutztown completed the sweep with a 6-3 game-two win.
Delaney Good (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) and
Riley McClellan (Granville Summit, Pa./Troy) stood out for Lock Haven in game one. Good recorded three hits and scored two runs. McClellan had two hits, both doubles, and an RBI.
In the fifth inning, McClellan's RBI to center drove in Good and tied the game at 3-3. In the bottom of the 10
th, Kutztown found the game-winning run despite a tremendous effort from pitcher
Jada Schellhammer (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua), who went the distance, and some. Over nine and 1/3 innings of action, she walked only two, struck out two and scattered 10 hits.
In game two,
Rianna Trexler (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) led the way at the plate for Lock Haven. She was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Lock Haven scored its three runs on seven total hits in game one and Kutztown scored four on 10 hits. In game two, Kutztown plated six runs on 10 hits and the Bald Eagles scored three runs on five hits.

Today's road-doubleheader at Kutztown started a busy stretch for the Bald Eagles. Lock Haven will be right back in action tomorrow (Thursday, March 30) at home vs. Mansfield. Tomorrow's game one is set for a 2 p.m. start.
