LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (14-15) swept Alliance (1-34) today at home on Watkins Field in a non-conference doubleheader. The Bald Eagles won game one 10-8, and competed the sweep with a lopsided 15-4 victory in game two.
Game 1 Recap: Lock Haven 10 – Alliance 8
Lock Haven jumped out to an early lead in game one and led 2-0 after the first inning. The Bald Eagles plated five runs in the bottom of the fourth and led 9-1 after five innings. Alliance rallied late, but in the end, the Bald Eagles held on for the game-one victory. Lock Haven's 10 runs came off five hits.
Brendan Jordan (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy (Bucks County CC)) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Blaise Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove), the reigning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week, drove in two runs to spark the offense.
Jordan smashed a two-run home run in the fourth.
Pitcher
Garrett Starr (Dubois, Pa./Dubois) picked up the game-one win and
Jared Colledge (Everett, Pa./Everett Area) was credited with the save after a solid effort in the seventh. Starr gave up just one hit and struck out four over the first four innings.
Game 2 Recap: Lock Haven 15 – Alliance 4
In game two, LHU hit two home runs and scored 15 runs on 13 hits.
Francisco Taveras (Muhlenberg, Pa./Muhlenberg (Lehigh Carbon CC)) was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Justin Lichtenwalner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) finished with three hits including a home run. Jordan added two hits in game two.
Zach Kaatz's (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) bat also sparked the offense in the big game-two win. He was 3-for-4 with six RBIs. Kaatz hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning and he also had two doubles.
Starting pitcher
Rylan Bailey (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County) picked up the game-two win on the mound after five fantastic innings. He struck out nine and allowed just two hits over the first five innings.

The Bald Eagles will host D'Youville for a four-game non-conference series this weekend. The series will open with a doubleheader Saturday, April 15 and game one is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
