WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's tennis team (7-4, 3-3 PSAC East) opened the weekend today (Sat.) with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at West Chester (9-7, 7-0 PSAC East).
The two teams played to "clinch" and West Chester won 5-0, thanks to five wins in singles play. With the victory, the host Golden Rams claimed the 2023 PSAC East regular season title.
Mia Shuler (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) represented Lock Haven at No. 1 singles today. Shuler fell to Elaina Lee 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2 singles,
Olivia Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) fell to Gabrielle Lerario 6-0, 6-1.
Mary Kathryn Hillman (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) dropped her singles match at No. 3, and
Christy McLean (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) and
Ellie Flynn (Kersey, Pa./Elk County Catholic) fell at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
