EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's tennis team (6-3, 2-2 PSAC) kicked off a busy weekend today (Fri., April 7) with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match at East Stroudsburg. The Bald Eagles picked up five wins in singles play and rolled to a 6-1 victory over the host Warriors (0-7, 0-4 PSAC).
Today marked the first match of the weekend. Lock Haven will be right back in action tomorrow (Sat., April 8) with they host Shippensburg on Senior Day 2023. Saturday's match is set for a 1 p.m. start and the Bald Eagles are looking forward to honoring seniors
Delani Wolever (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy),
Maddy Reeves (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) and
Ellie Flynn (Kersey, Pa./Elk County Catholic).
Mia Shuler (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport),
Olivia Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain), Wolever,
Christy McLean (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) and
Olivia Sharp (York, Pa./York County School of Technology) all won during singles play today at ESU.
Shuler downed Samantha Passmore 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Anastos topped Montana Catalan 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Wolever grinded out an epic win at No. 4 singles as she won 4-6, 6-2, and she took the tiebreaker for the comeback-victory.
McLean won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Sharp was credited with victory at No. 6 singles.
At No. 1 singles, Reeves dropped an outstanding match to Elina Joronen, 6-4, 6-4.
Anastos and Sharp won 6-2 in a contested match at No. 2 doubles.

The Bald Eagles will host Shippensburg tomorrow (Sat.) at 1 p.m. On the season, Lock Haven is an impressive 3-1 at home.
