LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven field hockey team (1-1) was edged out 2-1 tonight at home by Lehigh (2-1) in non-conference action.

Kelsey Felix (Hallam, Pa./Eastern York) kept Lock Haven in the game, fighting off a game-high eight shots on goal and seven penalty corners by Lehigh.
Constanza Lopez Zabala (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Martin y Omar) also collected a defensive save.
Trailing 1-0 heading into the final period,
Joelle Bartlett (State College, Pa./State College) put The Haven on the scoreboard after winning position on a scramble in the box and connecting on the equalizer.
However, that was the last score for the Bald Eagles, as Lehigh secured a shutout the rest of the way, while scoring the game-winning goal off a penalty corner in the 53
rd minute.
Brooke Hofsass (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) turned in a strong effort for The Haven, helping flip the field multiple times to turn away heavy pressure from the Mountain Hawks.
Six different Bald Eagles recorded shots with three coming on goal.

Lock Haven will head to Colgate for the first road game of the 2023 season. The contest is set for Sunday, Sept. 3 at 12 p.m. as the Bald Eagles cap a two-game weekend.
