HAMILTON, N.Y. – Playing on the road for the first time this season, the Lock Haven field hockey team (2-1) downed host Colgate (1-3), 2-1, this afternoon (Sun., Sept. 3) in non-conference action.

With the win, the Bald Eagles improved to 2-1 on the young season.

Constanza Lopez Zabala (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Martin y Omar) and
Alexis Kern (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.) scored for Lock Haven, and goalkeeper
Kelsey Felix (Hallam, Pa./Eastern York) made three saves to power Lock Haven to victory.

Rachel Alderfer put Colgate up 1-0 just 5:34 into the contest, but Lock Haven tied the match before the end of the first quarter.

Lopez Zabala tied the match in the 10
th minute.
Victoria Beiro (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Instituto Dr. Dalmacio Velez Sarsfield) was credited with an assist on the tally.

Kern scored early in the second quarter off an assist from
Elien Bos (Eelde, Netherlands/CSG Augustinus College). Kern's strike proved to be the difference maker and helped Lock Haven earn the road-win.

A number of players stood out on defense and that strong effort helped the Bald Eagles edge out the hosts today.
