LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team (1-6, 1-4 PSAC East) hosted East Stroudsburg University (6-1-1, 4-1-1 PSAC East) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest on Wednesday (Sept. 27) and the Bald Eagles fell to the Warriors, 1-0, in a hard-fought defensive battle.
The Warriors scored the game's only goal in the 65
th minute to steal the conference victory.
The Bald Eagles' defense did everything it could to keep Lock Haven in the game, fighting off a game-high 18 shots and four corners from the Warriors.
Megan Miller (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) was brilliant in net for The Haven, finishing with seven saves, including a full extension jumping stop to keep the game tied before ESU broke through.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half, and it was the Bald Eagles' defense that shined, fighting off 11 Warriors' shots, including five on goal.
Jocey Francis (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) recorded the lone shot on goal for Lock Haven.
