SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (6-4, 1-1 PSAC East) fell to Shippensburg University (11-5, 2-0 PSAC East), 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 19-25, 11-25) in a road Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match on Friday night (Sept. 29).
 
After falling in the first set of the match, 25-17, the Bald Eagles bounced back to edge out the Raiders in the second set, 25-23.
 
However, Shippensburg battled to a 25-19 victory in the third set before putting the match away with a convincing third set.
 
The Bald Eagle defense provided a valiant effort, totaling 53 digs and four blocks in the match, but the powerful Raiders' offense proved to be too much, as Shippensburg led the march with 60 kills and a 31 successful hit percentage.
 
Emma Kelly (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Ranch) continues her breakout season, leading the offense with 11 kills, while adding nine digs.
 
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) assisted in a team-high 32 points to pair with six digs and three kills.
 
Madison Eckley (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle) led the defense with 17 digs, while Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) led all players with three blocks.
 
Natalie Acevedo (Camuy, Puerto Rico/Paula Freire Social Justice Charter School) added 10 digs, seven kills and two aces.

The Bald Eagles remain on the road and will travel to Shepherd University on Saturday, Sept. 30 for a 4 p.m. PSAC East match.
