LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Playing as a nationally-ranked team for the first time this season, the Lock Haven women's basketball team used a late-game surge and grinded out a 61-46 win tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 24) at home over Mansfield (8-9, 5-7 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
 
Yesterday (Tuesday, Jan. 23), the Bald Eagles returned to the national rankings for the first time in 33 years as they debuted at No. 16 in this week's NCAA DII College Sports Communicators (CSC) national poll.
 
With the win, Lock Haven's win streak moved to a school-record 16 games as The Haven improved to 16-1 overall. The Bald Eagles also remained perfect in PSAC play at 11-0. Lock Haven is a perfect 5-0 in PSAC East play and the Bald Eagles are now a perfect 8-0 at home.
 
The Bald Eagles have not lost since the season-opener back on November 10, 2023. With the 11-0 conference mark, Lock Haven clearly sits atop the PSAC East standings and is one of just two remaining unbeatens in the league (Gannon, PSAC West, 12-0).
 
With just over eight minutes to play, Lock Haven and Mansfield were tied, 44-44, but the Bald Eagles erupted late, quickly extended the lead to 10 with 2:34 left and then grinded out the hard-fought PSAC East win.
 
Alana Robinson (Rockaway, N.J./Pope John Paul II) led the way for Lock Haven in the win as she finished with a double-double behind a 12-point, 11-rebound outing. The Haven's all-time leader in blocks added three tonight. Robinson also tallied a career-high five steals.
 
Jenadia Jordan (York, Pa./Linden Hall) had another monster outing and finished with a game-high 17 points. She added eight rebounds, four steals and two assists.
 
Taylor Leidy (Alexandria, Pa./Juniata Valley) also scored in double-figures as she finished with 10 points.           
 
Rhlyn Rouse (York, Pa./York Tech) netted nine points and grabbed six rebounds and Madeline Evans (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) had seven points and five rebounds. Jackie Fetsko (Marion Center, Pa./Marion Center) chipped in with six points and three rebounds.
 
The Haven defense forced 18 Mansfield turnovers, which led to 16 points for the Bald Eagles. Lock Haven scored 17 points on fast breaks and got 15 points from the bench tonight.
 
The 16 wins are the most in a single-season since Lock Haven won 17 in 2005-06.
