Men’s Soccer wins third straight, downs Shippensburg on the road

The Bald Eagles traveled to Shippensburg for a PSAC East vs. West crossover match on Saturday afternoon and won their third-straight game.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.Carter Rosno and Billy Lawrence scored to lead the Lock Haven men's soccer team to its third straight victory as the Bald Eagles downed Shippensburg 2-1 on the road in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East-West crossover game on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 19).

With the victory, Lock Haven improves to 7-4-1 on the season, while Shippensburg moves to 2-10.

Saturday's contest was an East vs. West matchup and did not count towards Lock Haven's race to the Western Division title, where the Bald Eagles are currently 4-1 and in first place.

In the first half, Lock Haven took a 1-0 lead after Lawrence netted his second goal in as many games off an assist by Austin Kravetz.

Shippensburg tied the game at 1-1 in the 15th minute and both defenses settled in from there.

However, Rosno helped the Bald Eagles break through as he scored the game-winning goal, unassisted, in the 67th minute, to soar Lock Haven to victory. The goal was the fourth on the season for Rosno, who is second on the team in scoring.

In the match, Lock Haven led the match with 18 shots, featuring three from Lawrence and two on goal from Connor Swope.

Lock Haven keeper Ethan Beck improved to 5-2 in net after making four saves and limiting the Raiders to one goal.
