LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven tennis team is set to open the spring portion of the 2023-24 season on Sunday, March 24, with a non-conference match vs. Penn College. The match is set for a 9 a.m. start. The opening match against Penn College will be held at The Central Pa. Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pa.
The spring portion of the schedule features nine events, including seven Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matches and one cross-conference matchup against Western Division foe Clarion.
Head coach
Pete Wert has passed the one-year mark since taking over the program on Jan. 19, 2023, and is fresh off guiding the Bald Eagles through a successful fall 2023 season.
Lock Haven is coming off an excellent fall, where it finished a perfect 4-0 for the first time in program history.
During the fall 2023 competition, Lock Haven had two 7-2 victories, one to start the season against Lycoming and one to end the fall season when they took on Penn State Altoona. Lock Haven also edged out Clarion and Scranton, winning 4-3 and 5-4, respectively.

Returners
Olivia Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) and
Mia Shuler (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) will lead the way this spring. They share a 3-1 record in both singles and doubles competitions, and as a team, they put up a 2-0 record in doubles.
Shuler and Anastos ended the fall season representing the Lock Haven women's tennis team at the PSAC Championships (Oct. 8).
Following Sunday's season-opener, the Bald Eagles will play two road matches against PSAC East foes Shepherd (April 6) and Bloomsburg (April 9).
Lock Haven will host four PSAC East matchups at the Lock Haven Tennis Courts and will end the season at home against Kutztown and Millersville within the same week (April 24 & 27).
