SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's outdoor track and field team returned to action today (Wednesday, April 17) and competed at Shippensburg University's Mid-Week Invitational.
Peter Bellomo (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) led the way with another impressive performance in the javelin throw. He was first of 24 with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship and NCAA Division II championship provisional qualifying mark of 193-05.00.
The Bald Eagles dominated the 110-meter hurdle event with
Josiah Schans (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) finishing second in 14.71.
Austin Kravetz (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was fourth (14.96) and
Matt Reinard (Camp Hill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) finished fifth (15.45). Schans, Kravetz and Reinard all ran to PSAC championship qualifying marks in the event.
Owen Hibell (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton) finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a PSAC time of 9:59.77.
Ryan Miller (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) finished third in the 200-meter dash with a PSAC time of 22.04.
Justice Shoats (Wilkes Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) hit a PSAC mark in the long jump with an effort of 22-09.75.
Braedon Firanski (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) hit a PSAC mark in the discus throw on the way to a fifth-place finish (149-09).
Nathan Fetchkan (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) hit a PSAC mark (47-03.5) in the shot put, while he (156-01.00), and
Eric Zalar (Shamokin, Pa./Shamokin) hit PSAC marks in the hammer throw. Zalar threw 163-05.00.
Jakob Rager (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) was third in the 1,500-meter run (4:03.84).
The Haven men finished 1-2 in the 4x100-meter relay with times of 42.44 and 43.07.
