SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's outdoor track and field team was in action today (Friday, May 3) on Day 1 of 3 at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Shippensburg University, and
Eric Zalar (Shamokin, Pa./Shamokin) led the way for The Haven.
Zalar put team points on the board for the Bald Eagles with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw. His mark of 167-03 marked a collegiate best and cracked Lock Haven's all-time top-10 list.
After day one of the decathlon,
Matthew Muthler (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) sits eighth of 13. He racked up 3,223 points through the first five events which were held today.
Chris Hine (Plains, Pa./Holy Redeemer) was Lock Haven's top finisher in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:35.37 (13
th/25).
Day 2 action in the decathlon will begin tomorrow (Saturday, May 4) at 10 a.m. The field events will start tomorrow at 12 p.m. and Saturday's track events are scheduled for 1:05 p.m. on the second of three days at the 2024 PSAC Championship.
