LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven field hockey team kicked off The Haven's 2025 Homecoming Weekend schedule by hosting Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in an Atlantic 10 (A-10) contest on Friday afternoon (Oct. 17).
The Bald Eagle field hockey team kicked off a loaded schedule of home events for The Haven on Homecoming Weekend by hosting VCU at Charlotte Smith Field.
VCU (10-3, 4-0 A-10), who is currently first the Atlantic 10 conference standings, came out on top, 4-0.
The Rams scored three goals in the first half, before adding a solo score in the third period to seal the victory.
The Haven's best chance on offense came early in the fourth quarter with high-percentage looks from
Paula Sigley and
Haley Kvacky.
The Bald Eagles backline played strong from start-to-finish and limited the Rams to four goals, despite facing a game-high 21 shots.
Lock Haven goalkeeper
Kelsey Felix continues to rack up saves in net this season and led the game with 11 stops. Felix is currently third all-time in the program record books for career saves with 426.
