JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's soccer team continues to roll through October and earned a convincing 3-0 victory on the road over the University of Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 29).
With the victory, The Haven extended its unbeaten streak to seven games as the Bald Eagles improve to 8-4-4 overall and 4-1-3 in the PSAC West. Lock Haven's lost defeat came back on Oct. 1.
The Bald Eagles earned the series sweep over UPJ (7-6-1, 2-5-1 PSAC West) this season, outscoring the Mountain Cats 10-0.
Lock Haven sits in third place in the Western Division with 15 points, just one point shy of second-place Seton Hill and two points behind first-place Gannon with two games to go. The top three teams in each division earn a trip to the PSAC Championship Tournament.
Billy Lawrence and
Carter Rosno scored for The Haven in the first half, while Lawrence added his second goal of the game in the 67
th minute to put the game away.
Ryan Miller (2),
Austen Veach and
Danny Ogan dished out assists for Lock Haven, who led the contest 14-11 in shots, including a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Rosno led the team with four shots, including two on goal, while Lawrence also notched two shots on goal, both of which found the back of the net.
Ethan Beck made one save and secured his sixth shutout of the season.
