Widener Indoor Classic Results
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Lock Haven men's track and field team kicked off a busy weekend by competing in Youngstown State University's Last Chance Meet in Youngstown, Ohio and the Widener Indoor Classic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Friday (Feb. 14).
PSAC/NCAA Automatic Qualifiers
Eric Zalar (Weight Throw)
Competing at the Widener Indoor Classic today was
Eric Zalar who put on an impressive performance in the weight throw where he threw for a distance of 18.41 (60-04.75), placing first. The personal-best throw gave Zalar his first NCAA Championship mark and is the second-best throw in Lock Haven history.
Running Highlights
The team of
Lukas Epitropakis,
Camden Marquette,
Skylar Small and
Rocky Romani ran to a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:36.44.
In the 800-meter, Small ran a personal-best time of 1:59.55 for a top-ten finish.
Dylan Way finished in the top-ten in the mile with a personal-best time of 4:49.03.
Also finishing in the top-ten in the 3000-meter was
Colin Simander with a time of 9:21.45.
Field Highlights
Peter Bellomo threw for a distance of 14.23 (46-08.25) in the weight throw giving him a top-ten finish.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to action tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 15) and will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to compete at the Widener Indoor Classic at University of Pennsylvania's Ott Center.
