Men’s Track & Field wraps up busy weekend of competition with notable individual and team marks

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's track and field wrapped up a busy weekend of competition on Saturday (Feb. 15) by competing in the Widener Indoor Classic.
 
The meet took place at the University of Pennsylvania's (UPENN) Ott Center.
 
PSAC/NCAA Automatic Qualifiers
 
Josiah Schans (60mH), Ryan Miller (400m), Morgan Gavitt (800m), Jakob Rager (3000m), Matthew Muthler (High Jump), and Chase Young (Triple Jump)
 
Running Highlights
Josiah Schans ran to a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.17, another PSAC Championship mark, and his second time hitting an NCAA Championship mark.
 
The squad of Aydan Summers, Matthew Muthler, Brennan Miller and Ryan Miller finished first in the 4x400-meter relay, with a team season-best time of 3:17.33, which currently leads all PSAC schools.
 
In the 400-meter race, Ryan Miller hit his first PSAC Championship mark and reached a second-place finish with a time of 48.87.
 
Morgan Gavitt also hit his first PSAC Championship mark in the 800-meter at 1:56.38.
 
Jakob Rager hit a PSAC Championship mark in the 3000-meter for the second time this season with a personal-best time of 8:39.00.
 
Field Highlights
 
Muthler adds to his already impressive list of qualifying marks by adding another PSAC Championship mark in the high jump with a personal-best jump height of 1.98 (6-06.00).
 
Chase Young had a personal-best jump in the triple jump and jumped to his first PSAC Championship mark with a distance of 13.73 (45-00.50).
 
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to action on Friday (Feb. 21) and will send athletes to the Penn State Tune Up (University Park, Pa.) and Bison Tune Up (Lewisburg, Pa.).
