GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Lock Haven baseball team returned to action today (Sunday, Feb. 23) as the Bald Eagles finished a four-game weekend series at Glenville State. The hosts won both games of Sunday's non-conference doubleheader.
The Bald Eagles fell in game-one 14-3, and lost a heartbreaker in game-two, 6-5.
With the two losses today, Lock Haven moves to 6-2 overall on the young season.
Yesterday's (Saturday, Feb. 22) sweep at GSU helped Lock Haven improve to 6-0, marking the first 6-0 start in school history.

In the opener, the Pioneers got the better of the Bald Eagles.
In the top of the third - down two, The Haven managed to get the bases loaded and take advantage of two free passes, which tied things up at 2-2.
Robert Furino hit a sacrifice fly to center field to put the Bald Eagles on top, 3-2, in the third.
The Pioneers would go on to score 12 unanswered runs, which led the hosts to the victory.
The Bald Eagles had two hits, which came from
Ethan Nagy and
Stephen McMillan.
Game 2 Recap: Glenville State 6 - Lock Haven 5
Lock Haven got the bats going early in game-two, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the second.
After a hit-by-pitch, a single, and a walk - the bases were loaded for
Nathan Wise. Wise then drilled a bases-clearing double and
Zachary McEllroy added a two-run homer in the inning to put the Bald Eagles up 5-0 in the second.
Glenville would crawl back into it, scoring two in the fourth, three in the sixth, and the Pioneers walked it off with a safety squeeze in the bottom of the seventh.
The Bald Eagles finished with seven hits, with McEllroy and
Joseph DeSiena each having multi-hit games.
Brady Myers pitched four innings, allowing two runs on two hits. He walked four and he struck out seven.

Lock Haven will look to keep its strong start to the season going and the team will return to action on Friday, Feb. 28 when the Bald Eagles take on Fairmont State at 3 p.m. The game will be played at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia.
