MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock Haven softball team wrapped up its week of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action by going 4-0 thanks to a 4-1, 4-0 sweep over Millersville on the road on Sunday afternoon.

With the sweep, The Haven has won four straight games in the PSAC East to vault back into postseason contention. Lock Haven is now 13-17 overall and 7-13 in the Eastern Division, just two games out in the win column from fifth place.

Millersville falls to 22-18 on the season and 6-14 in the conference.

This was a huge week for The Haven, who finished 4-0 with sweeps over Mansfield and Millersville.

The offense has been timely, but the pitching has told the stories as the Bald Eagle hurlers allowed one or fewer run in all four games, including a pair of shutouts.

Blaire Balestrini was on an absolute tear all week and finished 9-for-15 with four home runs, nine RBIs, seven runs scored, two doubles and a triple.

Balestrini hit three home runs on Sunday, including two in game two.

Game 1 Recap: Lock Haven 4, Millersville 1
In game one, Lock Haven a pair of runs in the first and sixth innings and
Keri Wesneski went the distance on the mound to start off the day with a 4-1 victory.

Wesneski pitched all seven innings and allowed just one unearned run, while striking out a pair to pick up her fourth victory of the season.

Balestrini continued her huge week at the plate by kicking off the scoring with a leadoff home run in the top of the first.

Maria Fratangelo doubled and drove in a run, while
Bella Schmitt went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored.

Game 2 Recap: Lock Haven 4, Millersville 0
In the nightcap, Balestrini hit her second and third homers of the day and
Talia Ross pitched a complete-game shutout to lead the Bald Eagles to a 4-0 victory.

Ross went the distance and finished with a career-high 11 strikeouts, while only allowing three hits.

Balestrini homered twice and drove in three runs, while
Madison Melius (2B), and Schmitt both finished with two hits.
Â
Game-one winning pitcher Wesneski finished with a single and an RBI.

The Bald Eagles continue their road trip and will visit West Chester on Monday, April 14 for a 1 p.m. PSAC East doubleheader.
