WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Lock Haven softball team fell twice, 15-0 and 5-4, in a road Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader at West Chester on Monday afternoon.

The Bald Eagles move to 13-19 overall and 7-15 in the PSAC East. The losses were the first in over a week for Lock Haven, who entered Monday on a four-game winning streak.

West Chester improved to 25-12 on the season and 11-9 in the Eastern Division.

On Monday afternoon, freshman standout
Blaire Balestrini was tabbed the PSAC East Athlete of the Week after going 9-for-15 with four home runs, nine RBIs, seven runs scored, two doubles and a triple during the Bald Eagles win streak.

Game 2 Recap: West Chester 5, Lock Haven 4
In game two, West Chester opened the scoring with a three-spot in the bottom of the first, but Lock Haven chipped away with solo runs in the second and fourth inning to cut its deficit to 3-2.

Madison Melius and
Abby Robertson hit solo home runs to left field to jump The Haven back into the game.

The Bald Eagles continued to roll in the top of the fifth and scored more runs to take their first lead of the day, 4-3. Robertson and Balestrini drove in runs during the rally.

However, the Golden Rams hit a solo home run in the bottom of the inning to knot the score at 4-4.

After 1.5 scoreless innings, the Golden Rams plated the game-inning run in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 5-4 victory.

Talia Ross provided quality starting pitching for The Haven as she tossed 6.2 innings and struck out two hitters.

Six different Bald Eagles recorded a hit, while Robertson (HR), Melius (HR) and Balestrini notched RBIs.

The Golden Rams' bats proved to be too much as West Chester scored 15 runs on 13 hits to take game one 15-0.
