SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lock Haven tennis team soared to a 5-2 victory over Penn College in a non-conference match at the Central PA Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon (Sept. 19).
The Haven took the doubles match point with a 6-1 victory from
Megan Ferris and
Alaina Marchioni at No. 1 doubles and a victory by default at No. 3 doubles by
Breanna Chicas and
Maggie Blasetti.
The Bald Eagles won three of five singles matches to clinch the victory.
Ferris secured a dominant victory at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Maci Rohrbach picked up an exciting (7-6, 6-2) victory at No. 2 singles thanks to a 7-5 tiebreaker victory in the first set.
Emily Brinker also won a victory by default at No. 5 singles.
Penn College earned its two points with victories at No. 3 and 4 singles.
Next Up
The Haven returns home on Saturday, Sept. 20 at noon and will host Kutztown at the Lock Haven Tennis Courts.
