Women’s Soccer downed by West Chester

Bald Eagles fall to West Chester Saturday night at home in PSAC East play

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team (2-4-1, 0-4-1 PSAC East) fell to visiting West Chester (4-1-2, 2-1-2 PSAC East), 4-0, tonight (Saturday, Sept. 27) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match.
 
Lock Haven goalkeeper Megan Miller made eight saves in the first half and Riley Houck made five stops in the second half of play.
 
The Haven's four shots came from the four different players including midfielder Julia Tavares.
 
Visiting West Chester scored 8:32 in the match and a goal in the 18th minute made it 2-0 at halftime. The Golden Rams made it 3-0 in the 67th minute when Faith Matter scored her second goal of the match. WCU added a fourth goal in the 74th minute.
 
Up Next for Lock Haven:  
The Bald Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 1 when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 7 p.m. conference match.
