ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Lock Haven lacrosse team scored six goals in the second quarter and held on late to edge Roberts Wesleyan, 16-14, in a non-conference game on the road on Wednesday.
With the victory, The Haven improved to 6-5 overall and Roberts Wesleyan fell to 3-8.
Gabby Gunnip led the charge with 10 points after dishing out five assists and scoring five goals.
Brynlee Pinschenat found the back of the net four times, while
Lexi Bunk and
Makayla Kelly both scored twice. Kelly, Bunk and
Jordan Ellis all dished out two assists. Ellis,
Addy Palm and
Maddy Raspen also joined in as goal scorers.
Lock Haven trailed 2-0 early but scored four straight to take control, then withstood repeated Roberts Wesleyan rallies in a back-and-forth game that featured 30 combined goals.
The Bald Eagles led 10-7 at halftime and 14-11 after three quarters before putting it away with a pair of goals from Bunk and Pinschenat early in the fourth.
Gretchen King made nine saves in net for The Haven.

The Bald Eagles remain on the road and will travel to Edinboro for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.
