Head Coach Mike Kraft
Entering third season at Lock Haven: 17-31
Mike Kraft enters his third season as the Lock Haven women's volleyball head coach in 2025.
Kraft was originally hired at The Haven in May of 2023 and after he led Lock Haven to remarkable turnaround during the fall he resigned in January. Kraft spent the last four months as an assistant coach with Penn State's Division I men's volleyball program. Kraft helped lead the Nittany Lions to 23 wins (23-7), a perfect run in conference play, an Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Conference title and a berth in the NCAA national tournament this spring.

Kraft returned for his second season as the Lock Haven women's volleyball head coach after spending the spring as an assistant coach at NCAA DI Penn State.
The Bald Eagles finished the season with a 6-18 overall mark and 4-10 record in conference play.
Reagon Irons and Evie Jane Rembold were honored for their efforts in the classroom as 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Athletes.
The Haven also earned the 2024-25 AVCA Team Academic Award.

Following the 2023 season – his first season at The Haven - Kraft was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Coach of the Year after guiding the Bald Eagles back to the PSAC tournament. Lock Haven's 11 wins during the fall were the most in five years.
Junior Kelly Gaston earned All-PSAC honors, while Evie Jane Rembold was named to the CSC Women's Volleyball All-District Team.
The Book on Kraft
Kraft was named the new head volleyball coach at Lock Haven on May 24, 2023.
A decorated collegiate player in his own right, Kraft previously served as an assistant coach at the college level with the men’s Division III program at Juniata College.
Since 2013, Kraft has held the role of head coach and technical director at Horseshoe Volleyball Club in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. Most recently, he has coached the 12U and 17U girls’ teams, but has vast experience at all levels of youth volleyball.
Kraft also served as the head women’s volleyball coach at Tyrone High School from 2014-21.
From 2013 to 2016, he was the men’s volleyball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Juniata College. During the 2014 season, Kraft helped guide Juniata to an NCAA DIII national runner-up finish. Juniata went 29-5 during the 2014 season and four players earned All-American honors.
Kraft also spent time on the coaching staff at Division I Saint Francis, working with the men’s program.
During his collegiate playing days at Juniata, Kraft was a two-time Academic All-American and helped lead the Eagles to the 2009 NCAA Division III national championship. He graduated from Juniata in 2012 with a degree in early childhood/elementary education. In 2019, Kraft earned a master’s in education from Saint Francis University. Since 2013, he’s taught at Tyrone Middle School as a general education teacher.
