Alex Monroe (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) of Lock Haven University cross country team has been named the www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.

Earlier this week, Monroe was named the PSAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Monroe took first overall, leading the No. 12 Bald Eagles to the team title at the Division II Challenge hosted by Kutztown University.

Monroe covered the 8K course in 25:47, dominating the 73-runner field for his fourth career win, while leading the Bald Eagles to their first team title of the season.

The defending PSAC and Atlantic Region Champion beat the second-place finisher by 16 seconds.

The cross country team will be back in action this weekend when they host the LHU River Run Invitational.
