CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Lock Haven University baseball team dropped its final two games of play on the Bald Eagles annual spring break trip to the Sunshine State.
Lock Haven dropped both games of a doubleheader to Cedarville, 6-5 and 8-2 today.
The Bald Eagles will return to Clinton County with a 9-6 overall record.
Cedarville scored its six runs on 13 hits as they took home the game one win in the bottom of the seventh. LHU tacked on five runs off six hits.
Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) was solid on the mound through five innings and recorded four strikeouts before leaving the game in the six.
Cody Young (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) was 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.
Scott Zuback (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) went 2-for-2 with a RBI as he continued to get it done at the plate.
In game two, Cedarville scored its eight runs on seven hits, while LHU posted two runs on three hits.
Cory Dorman (Mifflinburg, Pa./Alleghany College of Maryland) was 1-for-2 with a RBI in game two.
Lock Haven is back in action on Friday, March 18 as the Bald Eagles open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play with a doubleheader against IUP. First pitch Friday is set for 1 p.m. at Foundation Field.
