Lady Eagles fall to #2 Edinboro 75-52 at home

LHU puts together strong first half, can’t complete the upset; Lane leads team with 13 points

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (7-12, 6-10 PSAC) fell today to No. 2 Edinboro (20-0, 16-0 PSAC) 75-52 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

The Lady Eagles battled hard in the first half, forcing 12 turnovers, but Edinboro shot 50% (16-for-32) from the field and led 36-23 at the break.

Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) netted 11 points, which all came in the first half.  She also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and dished out a team-high three assists.

Freshman Samantha Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) led LHU with 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field.  Eleven of her 13 points came in the second half.

Mahogany Spence (Scranton, Pa./G.A.R.) scored 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field.  She also pulled down six rebounds.

Edinboro's Samantha Blazetic led all players with 20 points.

The Lady Eagles are back in action Wednesday, February 8 when they host Slippery Rock University.  Wednesday night the Bald and Lady Eagles will take part in the PSAC's Hooping for a Cure night. The women will tip at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at 8 p.m.
