LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven women's basketball head coach Jennifer Smith has announced her resignation from The Haven.

Smith, who is the program's all-time wins leader, has been named the new head coach at Millersville University.

In her 18 seasons at Lock Haven, Smith is the winningest coach in program history with 213 victories, while leading the Bald Eagles to eight straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournaments.

The Bald Eagles, who will move to the PSAC Western Division in 2026-27, are coming off three straight 20-or-more win seasons and three straight PSAC East Division titles.

In 2023-24, The Haven finished second at the PSAC Championships tournament and reached its first NCAA Tournament since 1991. Lock Haven went on to take down Cal (Pa.) in the Atlantic Region Semifinals.

In 2025-26, junior center Madeline Evans was named the first Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American as an Honorable Mention.

Associate head coach Zack Smith has been named the interim head coach.

Z. Smith, who has been with the program for 15 seasons, has played an instrumental role in helping rebuild and restore the program for over a decade.

A national search for Lock Haven's next women's basketball head coach is forthcoming.
