PHILADELPHIA – The Lock Haven women's track and field wrapped up a busy weekend of competition on Saturday (Feb. 14) by competing in the Widener Indoor Classic and secured multiple Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Qualifiers.
Saturday's meet took place at the University of Pennsylvania's (UPENN) Ott Center.
PSAC/NCAA Automatic Qualifiers
Samantha Trench (60-meter hurdles),
Nicole Carroll (800-meter),
Aubrey Sechrist (800-meter),
Gwen Lloyd (3000-meter),
Reagan Irons (High Jump).
Running Highlights
Samantha Trench, with a time of 9.20, earned fifth place in the 60-meter hurdles against a packed field of Division I athletes.
Elizabeth Shultz improved on her personal best in the 400-meter dash, finishing at 1:00.94, just over a second off the PSAC qualifying time.
Gwen Lloyd ran a season-best time of 10:27.98 in the 3000-meter run, earning sixth place overall.
Aubrey Sechrist and
Nicole Carroll competed in the 800-meter race, and their times of 2:19.31 and 2:21.75 earned them 13
th and 17
th, respectively.
The 4x400-meter relay of Carroll, Sechrist, Shutlz and
Claire Hauser ran a season-best time of 4:06.79, earning seventh place.
Field Highlights
Reagan Irons cleared a height of 1.65 meters (5-05.00 ft) in the High Jump, earning fourth place and a personal best.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to action on Friday (Feb. 21) and will send athletes to the Penn State Tune Up (University Park, Pa.) and Bison Tune Up (Lewisburg, Pa.).
