LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –  The Lock Haven baseball team hosted Kutztown in a nine-inning non-conference contest Wednesday and were edged late, 8-7

Lock Haven was led on offense by Cayde McCloskey, who totaled four base knocks and driving in five runs.
The game featured five lead changes between both teams. Kutztown opened the scoring with a solo run in the top of the first, but The Haven quickly answered to tied the game at one after a McCloskey single.
Kutztown scored four runs in the second to jump out front 5-1, but Lock Haven erupted for six runs over the third and fourth innings to jump out in front 7-5.
The rally was highlighted by four RBIs from McCloskey, while Zachary McEllroy and Braden Cummings also drove in runs.
The Golden Bears were quiet until the eighth inning, when they scored three runs to take the lead once more, 8-7.
Lock Haven was able to get the first two runners aboard in the ninth, but KU retired the side to seal the win.
Jerry Lambert (3-for-4, 3B), Braden Cummings (2-for-4), McEllroy (2-for-4, 2B), and McCloskey each had multiple hits throughout the contest.
The Bald Eagles used eight pitchers over the 9-inning battle.
The loss sits The Haven at 5-24, as Kutztown goes to 13-14 on the season.
